Matt & Nick of Cage The Elephant, Sheryl Crow, Vanessa Carlton and more to perform as special guests at Bonnaroo for special celebration of Tom Petty & Heartbreakers music

To continue the tradition of SuperJam this year at Bonnaroo, there will be set dedicated to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers called “Into The Great Wide Open.”

Thanks to JamBase, we have some info on it.  The musical directors for this will be Patrick of My Morning Jacket and Craig from VHS or Beta.  The main band will consist of “Wilco multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone, MMJ bassist Tom Blankenship, Mark Heideger of Vandaveer, Daniel Creamer of The Texas Gentlemen and The Watson Twins.  ”

As said in the headline, special guests (to appear sometime during the set) will include Matt & Nick of Cage The Elephant, Sheryl Crow, Vanessa Carlton, Sameer Gadhia (Young The Giant), Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso), David Shaw (The Revivalists), Moon Taxi, Langhorne Slim, Japanese Breakfast, Frenship, Rayland Baxter, Bucky Baxter, Durand Jones & The Indications, Larkin Poe, The Wild Feathers and Jalen N’Gonda according to Bonnaroo’s Twitter page.

This set will take place on Friday.

As for Cage The Elephant, it looks like the band is working on a new album as they posted this picture on twitter a month ago saying “Werk Werk Werk……WerkWerk.”
